Writer’s Block:
A VFX exhibition
A frustrated writer takes a fantastic journey into his imagination, only to discover that inspiration lies closest to home. The film deals with a screen writer struggling to write a successful screenplay. Failure seems to engulf him and he tries to find inspiration in everything around. The short film depicts his journey in the past, present and future; as he tries to get over his “writer’s block” and explores various scenarios to write a perfect story. The short film deals with three different time periods: 1850’s London, 1930’s and the future in space.

Segment 1, 1890’s London:
A pattern was made for the skirt and the jacket. A muslin fit was first established, and later the pattern was copied onto the final fabric. The blouse and undergarments were sourced from the costume shop.

There were 5 extras dressed according to the period apart from the male and female leads.
Segment 2, 1930’s:
Both the leads are placed in the Sahara desert in 1930’s. The woman’s outfit was drafted in-house and a viscose fabric with white lace trim details was used.
Segment 3, Space future:
The male and female leads are placed in a spaceship in the future. The costumes were designed and drafted in-house with some parts of it sourced/altered according to the design. In this segment, the leads also encounter zombies. The looks were sourced/shopped, then distressed to look bloodstained, torn and dirty.
Segment 4, Present day:
Some parts of the film were based on the present day. The looks were shopped and styled according to the character personalities and their environments.
