Saint Joan
Saint Joan is a play by George Bernard Shaw about 15th-century French military figure Joan of Arc. This play was re-imagined
as a medieval fantasy play. While some elements were taken from history, a majority of the influence came from more contemporary and fantasy world. An armour like leather corset was designed for the same with an arm brace.

Moodboard:
A majority of the influence came for contemporary fantasy television shows. The motif chosen for engraving was very feminine yet the silhouette represented a strong and powerful woman.
Engraving and Laser-Cutting:
The design for parts of the corset was first made on Adobe Illustrator for engraving and laser cutting like the shoulder and the arm brace.
Process:
- The main body of the corset was flat patterned. This pattern was then traced and cut onto the leather.
- Then, the leather was dyed. It was given a very rough finish to look like it belonged to the medieval times.
- Afterwards, it was assembled with the use of rivets and was laced. To get rid of the brightness of the rivets, they were aged and blackened.
-
The pieces were then moistened and put on the size-4 form to be wet-molded.
